October Sunup Criterium

October we're back to the Territory Wildlife Park for round 2 at this great Top End destination.

This event is for people of all ages, fitness and skill levels with a focus on having fun in an inclusive safe environment.

Grades

Multiple grades available. Please advise of your preferred grade during checkout in the comments, however grades and race times on the day will depend on the number and make up of entries.  Expected race times are;

• A grade men: 55-60 minutes + 1 lap
• B grade men / A grade women: 50-55 minutes + 1 lap
• C grade men / B grade women: 45-50 minutes + 1 lap
• D grade men / C grade women: 40-45 minutes + 1 lap (ideal for novice or first time participants)

Race Licence

All participants require an AusCycling race licence, however a 4 week free trial and lower cost one and seven day event licences are available. The race and event licence options are available from:

All participants are required to show their race membership at sign-on. Please have proof of your race membership when you sign in, whether this is a physical membership card, on your phone wallet app or an old fashioned paper copy. It must include proof that it's a Race membership (i.e. not Lifestyle) and include an expiry date.

Grading Trial

For this race, Darwin Cycling Club will trial club-based grading. You’ll nominate your grade during entry, but final placement will be decided by the Club Grader or Grading Sub-Committee. You’ll be notified of any changes—ideally before race day, but possibly at sign-on. Want to help shape the grades? Let us know in your entry.

Bicycles

Permitted:

• Drop-bar road bikes only
• Must be in safe, working order
• Handlebar ends must be plugged

Not Permitted:

• Time Trial bikes
• Triathlon bikes
• Mountain bikes
• Aero bars of any kind (including clip-ons)

If the bike looks like it belongs in Kona or at the Pine Forest, it’s not for criterium racing.

Volunteering

For this event to proceed DCC requires the following volunteers:

• 4 x people to tidy the track (blower vac) before the event.
• 2 x people to help with sign-on.
