The Darwin Cycling Club is off to the Territory Wildlife Park this July for a criterium — because where else would you race except a place full of animals that are faster than you. It’s going to be a ripper.   Schedule - 6:30 am: Gates open   - 6:45-7:10 am: Sign‑on and warm‑up   - 7:10 am: Race briefing   - 7:20 am: Race starts   - 8:20-8:30 am: Racing finishes - 8:30-8:45 am: Packing up - 8:45 am: Coffee & presentations at the Territory Wildlife Park Cafe   AusCycling Membership Race participants must hold an AusCycling Race All Discipline membership (any club), Free Trial or 1 or 7 Day Event Licence. Membership options: auscycling.org.au/membership Neither Lifestyle or Race Off Road members can participate in this race, unless they hold a 1 or 7 Day Event Licence. Bring proof showing Race, Free Trial, or Event Licence/ membership status to sign‑on.   Grades & Race Times The race will run for approximately 45-55 minutes + 1 lap. Final timings depend on entries. - A Men - B Men / A Women - C Men / B Women - D Men / C Women (novices/first‑timers) Please nominate your expected grade during entry, but final placement will be determined by the DCC Grading Sub-Committee. You’ll be notified of any changes—ideally before race day, but possibly at sign-on. The objective of grading is to provide safe and enjoyable racing for everyone – riders too fast for a grade ruin the enjoyment for other riders; riders who are too slow for a grade compromise rider safety.   Bikes & Audio Devices - Allowed: Drop‑bar road bikes in safe working order; bar ends plugged. - Not allowed: TT bikes, tri bikes, MTBs, aero bars/clip‑ons. - No audio devices to be worn at any time: no headphones, no earphones, no bone‑conductors, no audio‑glasses. If it makes noise, it's not for racing.   Drinks  The Darwin Cycling Club will provide cold drinks.    ENTRIES CLOSE 10AM FRIDAY 17 JULY 2026

6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The Sunbuild Top End Gran Fondo is the Northern Territory’s largest cycling event. The event takes in some of the best riding that the region has to offer alongside hundreds of other keen cyclists, hosted by the Darwin Cycling Club, who are instrumental in the Top End cycling scene.   It is iconic in the Northern Territory, and includes participation options to suit any rider and ability level. Starting and finishing in Darwin’s beautiful Waterfront Precinct, riders in the event's variety of distances will get to ride on 40km of closed roads between Darwin and Palmerston, as well as take in a lap of the Charles Darwin National Park, right outside the Darwin City Centre.   We’re proud to deliver the fully-closed roads of the Top End Gran Fondo for event distances as short as 5km and all the way up to 135km. A buzzing event precinct at the Darwin Waterfront, Aid Stations to keep you fed and watered, and the wonderful warm, dry weather of Darwin in the dry season make for an unforgettable road cycling experience!   Entries and further Info: www.topendgranfondo.au
