Withnalls Lawyers Bark Hut Classic

The Withnalls Lawyers Bark Hut Classic is our premier road race for the year - an 80 km out and back course (40 km out heading east and 40 km back) from the Bark Hut Inn, Annaburoo.

**UPDATE - SIGN ON FROM 6.30AM TO 7.15AM. BRIEFING AT 7.20AM WITH FIRST WAVE STARTING RACE AT 7.30AM. Races encourged to use rear light for increased visibility**

The best part about this race is the staggered start - riders are handicapped into groups - so ANY RIDER can be the overall WINNER! Everyone is racing toward the finish line and all riders have a chance to win by working with their group - or going for a break away.

PRIZES: There will be a prize for the first female and first male. We are thinking that a $100 voucher from Hot Tamale at the Darwin Waterfront is just the ticket.

JUNIORS: Juniors are not permitted to ride the full BHC distance. Any juniors wishing to complete a shortened version (eg. 20km out and then return) will need to arrange an adult chaperone.

VOLUNTEERS: A massive thank you to Trevor Owen for taking on the Chief Commissaire role and to Robert Cooper and Alex Kersemakers who are helping with the sign on before the race starts - they will be there at Bark Hut Inn Arnhem Hwy from 6.30am Sunday morning. Another thank you to Mischa Bertschi who is generously providing the ice and fruit to keep everyone cool after you cross the finish line. We also hope to provide bacon and egg rolls too, so please stay for the presentation afterwards. A marshal is also required for the turnaround point, so please let us know if you are able to assist. BRIEFING: An e-briefing will be sent around on Saturday afternoon. Remember to check your helmet and that your bike is in good working order. A verbal briefing will be held at 7.20am Sunday morning for a 7.30am sharp start.

COVID-19: If you are unwell please stay at home and rest up - otherwise, roll on up, we will be sanistising and social distancing with a smile.

MEMBERSHIP: You will need a Cycling Australia race licence to race. If you are not sure if racing is for you but want to give it a go check this site out and get a current DCC race member to send you a 2 week race licence FOR FREE - https://cycling.org.au/bringamate and then, you know... sign up for real because you will love it - in a Type 2 fun kinda way!
