Marrakai Chase - Gravel Event

Get ready for the Lake Bennett Gravel Event – Marrakai Chase on Sunday, 13 September 2026, hosted by the Darwin Cycling Club in partnership with Darwin OffRoad Cyclists. Designed to bring riders together for a fun day on two wheels while raising vital funds and awareness for R U OK?, this 40 km loop takes participants through a mix of rough rural roads, unpaved gravel, sandy patches, corrugations, and a creek crossing. Starting and finishing at the Lake Bennett picnic area on Chinner Road, the morning kicks off with a 7:00 AM start following a 6:45 AM briefing and 6:15 AM registration. Any valid AusCycling license can be used to participate, and while gravel and mountain bikes are ideal for tackling the rugged terrain and Build-up conditions, cyclists on all types of well-maintained bikes are welcome to join, enjoy the challenge, and vie for spot prizes in a friendly, fully supported environment.
